specs for nerds

this robot runs ubuntu and ROS (robot os.) i needed desktop power with a kinect to do 3d scans, so i sacrificed my best desktop. it works by interfacing lots of simple little programs with the ROS framework. I believe this is a good programming paradigm despite the lack of a true unix feel, using ROS IPC.

The head is a kinect held on by magnets (this is a prototype), the chassis is a PC case-mod on top of an MMP5 robot platform. it doesn't have an AC PSU of course, but a 24 volt LiFePO4 battery in the pc case with a car pc PSU. it also utilizes Arduino.
